Mrs. Idaho International 2008, Brenda Mee invited Miss Idaho America, Elise Davis to join her on her morning radio show to promote the scholarship fundraiser and appearance of Miss America Kirsten Haglund in Boise. This was Elise's very first radio interview. In September Elise will travel to California for 3 weeks of taping for the TLC Miss America reality show. There will be 8 episodes of the reality show, last year there were only 4, but because it was so popular they doubled the number of episodes this year.

Climb to Conquer Cancer

Top Picture:
At the national pageant in Chicago one of the quotes that became a motivational theme for the contestants was: "You don't know my life!" A motto that comes in handy when others question why you do what you choose to do. Mrs. Idaho International 2008 Brenda Mee is wearing the t-shirt sporting that motto prior to the Climb to Conquer Cancer. The t-shirt was a surprise gift she received in the mail from the newly crowned Mrs. International, Laine Berry.

I was very excited to be invited to join Miss Idaho International's "Climb to Conquer Cancer" fundraiser. I thought it would be a great way to raise money and awareness for The American Cancer Society. I also thought "what the heck...it will be a fun way to get my cardio workout for the day." Imagine my surprise when I crossed the finish line and was congratulated by Congressman Mike Simpson for being the FIRST to finish the climb!!!

2008 Lisa Hamman organized a team to raise money and participate in the annual American Cancer Society's "Climb to Conquer Cancer." It is a strenuous roundtrip climb from the historic prison to the the top of Table Rock Hill to the cross and back. Prior to the climb Lisa did an interview on the radio (KIZN) with Mrs. Idaho International 2008 Brenda Mee and her co-host (hubby!) Kevin.

Kuna Days

It was another busy Saturday!

I was able to hand out tons of autograph cards today!

The first round of pictures are from the Kuna Days Parade.

Nampa Community Night

"National Night Out Crime Prevention Fair August 2nd at Lakeview Park"

Crimestoppers invited us to help in their booth - except they didn't have a booth. They had saved a spot for us to put up our very own booth. So the Mrs. Idaho Booth consisted of a big stick in the ground with the number 4 spray painted on it! Esperanza Miss Nampa was at the event and I believe Mrs. Ada County Misty Anderson also made an appearance earlier in the day. I got Esperanza settled in with the Nampa police department and then Kevin and I walked around and visited with people. We weren't able to stay too terribly long as we had to get the car back to Fairly Reliable Bob's.
