"Fairy Godmother Project."

Mrs. Idaho International Brenda Mee has an ongoing outreach program she
calls her "Fairy Godmother Project." Brenda and her husband Kevin
rescue clothing that was bound for the landfill from anonymous retailers.

The clothing is new/out of stock/returns/slightly damaged. The Mee
kids help sort the clothing for various shelters and all the formal
dresses and women's heels are set aside for the foster/orphan teenage girls
for homecoming/prom. The dresses are then taken to volunteer
seamstresses who stitch up the gowns, replace zippers etc. Then the gowns are
taken to a fantastic group of hard working women at a local dry cleaners
who volunteer their time to spot clean/steam/bag each gown.

When the gowns are in pristine condition they are delivered to the
Idaho Children's Home where the orphan/foster girls are invited to "shop"
for a gown of their choice that they get to keep. The response from the
girls over the years has been very heartwarming and makes all the
volunteer efforts very worthwhile.

(to safeguard the pride and privacy of each gown recipient no pictures
of the girls are available)
